INFORMATION

At the NAMM show of 1958, the new luxurious showpiece of Fender was launched: the Jazzmaster.
The new model was a regular electric solidbody and was nothing like the instruments used by jazz musicians at the time. The Jazzmaster was the first Fender model to have an asymmetrical body: the curves of the waist were not aligned horizontally, giving the instrument a modern, streamlined look. Furthermore, the instrument had a floating tremolo-arm. The Jazzmaster was equipped with ‘soap bar’ pickups that were flat and wide.
