These instruments were known for their extraordinary razor-sharp tone and copper resonance. The old lighter Torres design was replaced with a heavier and sturdier bracing construction design. Ultimately, this system, which was sometimes varied, consisted of nine fan-shaped bracings and four harmonic bars, the lowest of which was arranged diagonally.
