Martin OM-28 Western guitar – U.S.A. – 1929

TYPE

Acoustic Hollow Body Western guitar

FEATURES

Western guitar with mahogany blocks

Solid Adirondack red spruce top, neck of exclusive hardwood

Solid black ebony fretboard

INFORMATION

The guitar has a wide, strong neck and the back and sides are made of East Indian rosewood. The top has a decorative herringbone binding and the fingerboard is made of ebony. The guitar has a long and 4.5 cm – 18 inch wide V-neck. In addition, it has the hallmarks of Martin’s golden age: a top and scalloped bars made of Adirondack spruce, a type hardly used after 1945. All this resulted in a vintage tone.
This OM-28 model is similar in size and trim to the Eric Clapton 000-28EC model. However, it has larger spaces between the strings at the bridge and wider range.
